Hering’s Law of Cure (also called Hering’s Law of Direction of Cure) is a foundational principle in homeopathythat describes the pattern in which true healing occurs in the body.It was formulated by Dr. Constantine Hering (1800–1880), a prominent German-American homeopath.Core Principles of Hering’s Law of CureHealing proceeds in these predictable directions:

1. From Above Downward (Top to Bottom)
   Symptoms improve from the head toward the feet. For example, a headache may resolve before shoulder pain, which resolves before knee pain.
2. From Within Outward (Inside to Outside / Center to Periphery)
   Deep internal issues move toward the surface. Internal organ problems may show improvement as symptoms appear on the skin, mucous membranes, or through discharges (e.g., sweating, skin eruptions).
3. From More Important to Less Important Organs
   Vital organs (brain, heart, lungs, liver) heal before less vital ones (joints, skin). The most critical functions are restored first.
4. In Reverse Order of Appearance (Last In, First Out)
   The body eliminates symptoms in the reverse chronological order they originally developed. Recent symptoms disappear first, and older, deeper symptoms may temporarily reappear before resolving (sometimes called “return of old symptoms”).

True cure doesn’t just suppress symptoms — it retraces the path the disease took, moving the illness out of the body in an orderly, predictable way. This is often contrasted with suppression, where symptoms disappear but the underlying issue moves deeper or to more important organs.
